I Look to You (Amazing Grace)
Words: Jesse Rey Quesada & Austin Thompson. Music: Austin Thompson.
Original Words: John Newton (1779).
A humble Servant came for me
To bear the road to Calvary;
And there my Jesus bled and died –
Now the wrath of God is satisfied.
I look to You to know who I am,
For I’m covered by the blood of the Lamb.
Amazing grace! How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me!
I once was lost, but now am found;
Was blind, but now I see.
Our precious Lord, laid in the tomb –
The serpent crushed; Your Servant bruised.
But morning came, and darkness fled,
For the Son has risen from the dead!
I turn to You for power to save,
For you conquered death and rose from the grave.
The King is coming back for me
To dwell with Him eternally;
And there all sin will be removed,
And the glory will be all to You!
I’ll sing to You in heaven above,
For your wondrous deeds and matchless love.
