Take Heart, My Soul
Words: Jesse Rey Quesada. Music: Bryan Jeffrey Lee & Jesse Rey Quesada.
Take heart, my soul, and doubt it not –
The love of Christ, your advocate.
Lift up your eyes and see the cross
Where your dear Savior's blood was spilt.
How can you measure Heaven's loss?
The Son displayed as cursed for you.
No mind can fathom Love's full cost:
His hands, His feet, His side pierced through.
Behold, my soul, the covenant
Of Christ's atoning blood to save.
No sin could fracture or prevent;
No doubt could cause His oath to change.
The Christ, eternally the same,
Has loved you from before the world,
And bore the wrath, and suffered shame
To sheath Damnation’s flaming sword.
Rise up, my soul, and own anew
Your everlasting Father’s love;
In Christ He has adopted you,
And by His seal Death’s roar is hushed.
Though you were born an orphan child,
He swaddled you in garments white,
And gave His Son to reconcile,
For you were precious in His sight.
